United Way Agencies Make a Difference in the Lives of People in Our Community
  • Fifty-two percent of Little Brothers and Little Sisters are less likely to skip a day of school and 37 percent are less likely to skip a class. The youth not only skipped school less, but earned higher grades and felt better about their academic performance.
  • ACORN’s Pediatric Dentistry program has provided more than 2,000 children with cleanings, treatments, sealants, fillings and extractions.
  • The Florida Diabetes Camp provides children with a fun camping experience while teaching them the importance of testing their blood sugar frequently.
  • Disadvantaged children who receive quality preschool services at the ARC of Alachua County are less likely to need special education services than children who do not attend a preschool.
  • One out of four of your friends, neighbors and loved ones is touched by a United Way agency every day.
